Bob Bourne specializes in providing management assistance, route and schedule design and marketing assistance to small urban, rural and university transit systems. With more than 40 years of experience in the transit industry, he has extensive knowledge of management, operations, training, safety and marketing of bus services.
He has developed a unique “Safety Culture” process that enhances and improves the existing safety culture present in each transit system; resulting in reduced claims and improved system performance. His approach focuses on initiating change through collaboration between drivers, supervisors, and management. His strategies are developed using thorough, holistic analytic techniques and implemented using methods that have been proven to garner results.
Bourne believes in the critical importance of working hands-on with every level of each operation, from the drivers on the street to the director of the system. In addition, he has extensive experience working with all entities involved in decision-making, from Board members to government officials to the public.
Bourne also has many years of experience in workplace mediation, conflict analysis and conflict management services, which complement his consulting services. Workplace mediation is also offered as a separate service.
