Student Transit Fees – Research Data
Fee Levels vary from school to school depending on the amount of service that is provided. A low fee level will typically support limited services and higher fee levels will support more comprehensive services. Fee levels nationwide are constantly in flux as students realize the benefits of robust and effective bus service. Concerns about the impact of transportation on the environment, access to jobs and class, and the overall vitality of campus life are the impetus for improved transit service.
The table below (downloadable PDF) is a result of extensive research conducted by Bourne Transit and shows typical fee levels and service provided. Funding is often complex and intertwined with local politics, state transit and university funding policies, and federal policy. Active involvement in the local, state, and federal political process are an important aspect of developing good transit service.
